Some of you may have noticed that we offer a couple of unique programs of interest for people who wish to enhance their intuitive skills. That may seem like a far stretch from our mission since we teach therapists, coaches and other helping professionals how to deliver services via technology.
Actually, we feel that all healers and facilitators can benefit from the skills we teach. For starters, many mental health professionals feel that they can’t integrate their intuitive skills into their work with clients. Many counselors are also Reiki practitioners but they get confused about the boundaries of Reiki and psychotherapy. What about counselors who have training in shamanism or who are trained in aromatherapy? How about helping professionals who rely heavily on spiritual influences?
On the flip side, there are healers who utilize tools such as tarot cards, reflexology or iridology- they may conduct aura or chakra readings or use knowledge from astrology or other metaphysical aspects of healing. Healers who offer their gifts to others may be doing so out of a motivation to do good, but perhaps they have never had training in helping and the ethics and boundaries involved in offering helping and healing services.
“Therapist as Intuitive” and “Intuitive as Healer” may also deliver services via distance. A Reiki practitioner may offer to send healing at a certain time from across the miles. A coach may conduct an astrological reading from a distance and send the report via technology. Mediums and psychics may be able to offer feedback through email exchanges.
Intuitives require foundational training in helping and coaching, ethics and technology just as coaches and therapists do. We are committed to training all helpers and change-agents so that people can share their talents and skills in ethical and helpful ways. For licensed professionals, working within one’s scope of practice and obtaining proper training when offering certain interventions is paramount.
For all helpers, healers, intuitives, therapists and coaches, understanding informed consent and confidentiality with regard to in-person and online delivery is important; this is teaching we are committed to.
The Intuitive Wellness Coach Specialist Certificate combines intuition, energy healing, coach competencies and technology-assisted delivery of services training. The course also qualifies as the educational component for two credentials: Board Certified Coach and Certified International Health Coach.
