The Online Therapy Institute and Online Coach Institute hosts several forums in conjunction with course work. We also host the OTI/OCI Cafe which is a general discussion board for coaches and therapists to discuss topics related to practice building, networking and resources.
We host a Supervision Forum – one each for Therapists and Coaches. The Supervision Forum is for peer supervision and case consultation for therapists and coaches working with clients via technology.
The Forums are a place for people to consult, discuss, network, and share information, research, technology, resources, skills, and knowledge about online mental health issues. It is also a meeting place for members to get to know one another in an informal and friendly environment. The Forum offers encrypted Boards to many organizations who utilize the space for peer consultation, student/teacher facilitation and clinical supervision. You will only be able to access boards to which you have been subscribed.
In the interest of maintaining a positive and constructive community, please take note of the following guidelines when participating:
You might want to include a signature with information such as your degree, affiliation, geographic location, and/or website.
Use the subject line that continues the discussion on the board, or, if you create a new topic for discussion, create a new subject line that is clear and concise.
We encourage you to share activities and projects you are involved in, particularly those related to online mental health – but please, not repeatedly. The use of this forum is dedicated primarily to facilitation and consultation. We do have other venues available to post announcements that would be of interest to the entire online therapy community.
Be sensitive to the cultural, geographic, and disciplinary diversity of the list.
Be respectful of others’ perspectives, even when you disagree with them and believe they are wrong.
Do not share member information with nonmembers.
All messages are protected by copyright laws. They cannot be used, copied, or forwarded without prior consent of the author. Please avoid personal attacks, sarcasm, innuendo, or any other kind of derogatory or disrespectful language in the forums, and on your website toward, or about another Online Therapy Institute member.
Online Therapy Institute reserves the right to ban members from the forum if the guidelines are not followed.
Peer Consultation Boards within the Forum: Please do not discuss specific case material. Coach and Therapist Peer Consultation boards are for general discussion only. If you are in need of a one-off from a qualified coach or clinical supervisor please refer to your own supervision that you may already have in place or consider a one-off professional consultation.
