Anastasia Piatakhina Giré is currently on a PhD journey at Middlesex University, London.
Her research project is entitled “Displacement and online therapy: is there a natural relationship? Exploring the displaced individuals’ experience of online therapy.”
Anastasia’s practice is dedicated to working with displaced individuals; this topic is important to her as one day she was on the ‘other side of the screen’, and online therapy gave her an opportunity to receive support from her therapist during another international move.
The results of this study should help counsellors who work online with displaced individuals to better meet their needs.
As the first stage of the research, she will conduct an online survey. She would like you to help disseminate this survey, either by sending an invitation to the survey by email to your clients or by embedding a link to the questionnaire on your website.
She is happy to answer any questions you may have or to discuss her project in greater detail. Once the research is complete, she will be willing to share the findings with you.
All participants’ responses will be treated in confidence. Contact, on an individual basis, will be made only with those participants who have indicated their willingness to take part in further research that focuses on the experience of individuals in online therapy.
This survey design and survey participant approach is approved by The Metanoia Research Ethics Committee. In this regard a point of contact is Dr Stephen Goss (firstname.lastname@example.org) Chair of the Ethics Committee.
You can view the client consent form and survey link here.
